Art, Fashion and Architecture - Fundamental Pillars to any culture.

Being a first generation Latin American, my childhood is filled with memories of folklore stories.  It’s a world of magic, symbolism and good verses evil.  It’s a way of life, a way to keep order and balance as individuals and as a whole.

Growing up in Hollywood, you can see traces of folklore on the murals of Sunset Boulevard, fashion shows, musicals, concerts and mainstream culture.

With my formal studies in Apparel and Theatre Design at California State University Northridge, I was able to utilize art to make my designs rich in content and connected to fashion.  In the process, I have emerged as a self-taught artist, enhancing my desire in telling stories.

Connected to this mainstream culture, I want to transform a common place into something that evokes reaction, emotion and discussion.  With the use of props, costumes, set dressings and photography, I am able to provide a glimpse of those emotions, regenerating new stories based on the viewer’s experience, knowledge and cultural background.

“I create in order to be the person I desire to be, or risk becoming the person that society predetermined me to be.”
